Samsung Has Registered For Patent For Under-Screen Fingerprint Scanner
After A long wait, finally Under Screen Fingerprint Scanner is here. Yes you read right, Recently Samsung has registered for patent for a pressure-sensitive Under Screen Fingerprint Scanner in South Korea.
It is expected that Samsung is going to bring the Under-Display Fingerprint-Scanner technology on one of its upcoming flagship devices in next year.
But, on the other side Vivo has already launched the technology in last month. On 28 June Vivo launched an industry-first Under-Display Fingerprint-Scanner technology at MWC 2017 in Shanghai. The sensor by Vivo can be placed under the glass (0.88mm) and OLED screen (1.2mm) and an aluminium cover of 0.525mm making it invisible.
For now Samsung is still busy to implement their Under Display Fingerprint Scanner on their upcoming flagship products like Samsung s9 and Samsung note 9.
Qualcomm moved the new technology from concept to production,they found something kept changing on the material it needed to work.
They are confident that they have a solution that works under metal, under glass and under display and it can work under water which means it’s also waterproof, and they are expecting to launch the technology with in next year.
